Option Sets

Create option sets with swatches, then apply them to products. Products with matching option values will get the swatch metafields.

Swatch Files

Files uploaded to Shopify Admin > Content > Files. Use these as swatch images.

Create Option Set

Option Set Name

Virtual Variant (NOT a Shopify variant)

For Colors: Colors will be displayed as a selector but will NOT be a Shopify variant. Color selection is saved as a cart line item property. Use this to reduce variant count.

Parent Option (the real Shopify variant that controls colors)

Colors will be filtered based on the selected parent option value.

Color Availability by Parent Option

For each parent value, check which Colors are available. First add your Color swatches below, then come back here to set relationships.

Swatch Type

Enable Two-Tier Grouped Swatches

For products with >250 variants, this generates a metafield mapping parent→child relationships so the theme can filter child swatches correctly.

Apply Option Set to Products

Select products to apply the swatch metafields. Only products with matching option values will be updated.
